April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and piano classes, which ignited her passion for writing songs. April's first song was Different which she composed when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing songs and honed her musicianship ability. The following years, she took writing trips together with her dad in LA in addition to NY. April began also to incorporate other related topics for some of her classmates who struggle with issues such as peer pressure disabilities and even teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who has a growing fan base. She collaborates with the renowned brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership in addition to being an expert in the field of lifestyle. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not the entire picture. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on Instagram, but she doesn't make it the focus of her story. It's a reminder. It's important to keep in mind that each of us has many faces, our identities vary and we are much more than our bodies. Lockhart has stated on video that she doesn't wish to be defined by her handicap. She doesn't want to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are many aspects to Lockhart. It doesn't impact my everyday routine. I still do all the things I normally would and I've adapted to my disability. Because it's my identity It's a topic worth talking about. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that will last an entire lifetime. She has been a source of inspiration for this purpose. However, she admits to going through periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance and wearing clothing which displayed her arms. She wears what she likes and posts photos of herself wearing the clothes she picks out on social media. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I don't think you will ever be there," she said. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. I think it's vital to surround yourself those who can discern and understand your heart.
